Election Results

Posted October 2, 2008.  The USBA election of board members for the upcoming year is complete.  The new board is:

President - Joe Rader

Vice President –Daniel Bower

Treasurer - Betsylew Miale-Gix

Secretary - Richard Bower

At-Large Members: David Hirsch, Don Monroe, Matt Golenor, Stuart Jones, Rob Stewart

Congratulations and welcome to our new Board Members, Richard Bower and Rob Stewart!!

Houston, Galveston Hit Hard

Posted September 15, 2008.   Hurricane Ike hit the Houston and Galveston areas pretty hard causing lots of property damage and massive power outages.  Happily the number of people hurt is low because of evacuations done prior to the storm. We have at least five USBA members in the Houston area.  Stu Jones is faring well and at last check was one of the lucky few who had power.  Dennis "Juice" Joyce was out of town on business so he should be okay.  Let's all keep Houston and our fellow boomers in our thoughts and reach out to anyone you know who might need help.

New Tournaments Scheduled

Posted September 8, 2008.  If you thought that the Nationals was your last chance to throw some booms for bling, you need to check out the calendar.  Two more tourneys have been added with the next one being in Seattle in just a few  weeks.

Batman Tech On the History Channel

In July and August, the History Channel ran BATMAN TECH to coincide with the release of THE DARK KNIGHT.  In this program, they put together an analysis and explanation of Batman's many tools including the BATARANG - a bat shaped boomerang. The History channel asked for our expertise and the USBA was credited for its contribution.  Current USBA president, Joe Rader, demonstrates an actual boom throw and catch. Batman Tech On the History Channel Features Footage and Info from USBA Throwers

 Posted July 15, 2008.  Check out the History Channel in July.  For the release of the new Batman movie, THE DARK KNIGHT, the History Channel has put together an analysis and explanation of Batman's many tools used through history.  Included in those is the BATARANG - a bat shaped throwing weapon. The History channel asked for our expertise and the USBA will be credited for its contribution.  Watch closely because it may only be a few seconds of actual boomerang footage.  Follow this link for air times.
