2022 US Boomerang Team Trials
April 22, 2022 - April 24, 2022
Come one and come all to the 2022 US Team Trials! Held at Lake Stevens Community Park in Lake Stevens WA, approximately 45 minutes north of downtown Seattle. This three day tournament/event from April 22-24th of 2022 will the the proving grounds and selection event for 12 (or more) lucky individuals to don their red, white and blue jerseys and travel to Bordeaux France in August for the World Boomerang Championships and the chance to defend the USA championship title from 2018! The only requirement to attend is to be a current USBA member. Which if you are not can be remedied at www.usba.org We will be following the same basic Trials event layout as we have been using for the past several years. Two full days of events Friday-Saturday, and a half day on Sunday. The idea is that you can book an evening (after 5pm!!) flight home on Sunday if you need to be back for work on Monday.
The tournament structure will be closely based on the events we will compete in at the WBC. Full event outline can be seen here: https://docs.google.com/…/1p…/edit…
Simple version: The top four finishers will choose 2 more participants from the attendance pool to form US Team 1. Then the next 4 highest finishers will choose 2 more participants to form Team 2.
We (The USBA) are still trying to determine how many teams we will be allowed to send. But in our perfect world we would send 2x “veteran/competitive” teams AND a developmental/junior team. There will be couch/spare bed lodging options with the many local throwers. We will not be sourcing a group hotel. But anyone who strongly wanted their own space would be encouraged to look for lodging in Lake Stevens (Air Bnb’s should be plentiful), or nearby Everett WA (Hotels and Air Bnb’s abound).
The two airports to look into are both Seattle-Tacoma International (Sea-tac). And Paine Field in Everett. Paine field is much closer to the field, but Sea-Tac is the local hub and likely to have more connection options from various parts of the country. It would be most ideal to come into town Thursday the 21st or Wednesday the 20th. Tournament hosts are Richard and Daniel Bower. Head Judge and Safety officer TBD as of January.
Please RSVP directly to Richard Bower and be sure to mention if you:
1. Need lodging/want a comfy couch
2. Need transport to and from the airport
3. Any other unique needs.

Developmental level throwers are encouraged to come early or stay late to visit the famed Bower boomerang shop and paw through the many boxes of comp boomerangs that Dan and Rich would love to give away! And, if you bother them enough ahead of time, there could even be some shop time spent to make brand new comp booms. Because if we are going to have new throwers in the sport, and if they want to have some of the best equipment to help them on their way to success we are going to make that happen!
More info to be posted on the page as it becomes available.
Stay Rad and see you in April!
